MONDAY 31ST OCTOBER
**NEMESIS TO GO RECOMMENDS** MAN-FLU, ADVERT, SULK, ZOETROPE @ Hoxton Sq Bar & Kitchen, 19.30, £4 if you write on the Facebook event wall, otherwise, £5 on door
'Manflu's own club, Flying Dropkicks, teams up with Club The Mammoth for this Hoxton Halloween bash. Certainly Manflu's scary, angular, thump-and-clang dynamics should get you suitably spooked. Zoetrope are new to me, but I've given them a quick listen on MySpace and I'm rather taken with their no-wavey punker bashabouts. Never mind the pumpkins, just bring the noise.'

EDDIE READER @ Bloomsbury Theatre, 19.30
FUCKED UP @ Scala, Kings Cross, 19.30
'Fucked Up are arguably the best hardcore album band of at least the last 20 years. The Toronto sextet's Hidden World and The Chemistry of Common Life both manage the nearly impossible feat of keeping a piledriver punk-rock assault compelling for more than 45 minutes straight...' (Pitchfork)
GOTYE @ St Stephen's Church, Shepherds Bush, 19.30
Australian cult sensation Gotye has announced he's to bring an ambitious new live set-up to London. "I have a ten-piece band, in which everyone sings and plays multiple instruments", he says. "It's exciting because it's dangerous. It could go wrong on every song."
